For their first-ever runway show, Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein looked to Basquiat’s later years in Hawaii for inspiration. This foundation expressed itself in soft pajama prints and baseball jackets and color-blocking for the men, and bright and floral separates topped off by baseball caps for the women. The designers avoided any too obvious references, although the entire collection had a freshness and lightness that felt very right for next spring.
