Images: Liu Wen by Daniel Jackson for Vogue China Feb 2009, Constance portrait courtesy of Marilyn Model Mgmt.
Catwalk queens Liu Wen and Constance Jablonski join cosmetics giant Estee Lauder‘s roster of elegant faces. With their pristine looks and natural refinement, both models are perfect representatives of 21st century beauty, in the words of Estee Senior Vice President Aerin Lauder, “Constance and Liu Wen are the beauties of our time.  Both models have quickly captured the attention of the fashion and beauty world.†What makes these appointments special is that this marks the first time a Chinese or French model has ever landed an Estee contract, the addition of new faces that speak to the diverse nature of beauty is a major step in the right direction. It is especially gratifying to see an Asian model in a prominent beauty campaign; we can’t wait to see the Craig McDean helmed images when it debuts in June.

This is great news. I like that the brand is diversifying but I hope it’s not a brief period just PR sake like they did with Liya. Constance is beautiful, happy for her.

I could not be happier for Liu Wen. Kudos to Estee Lauder for finally recognising that Asian women make up a huge part of the beauty economy. Now if only Anna Wintour would book Liu for Vogue!

This is good news!! Congrats to Marilyn, as they must be happy to have nurtured this two girls into the heavy-hitters they are today!! Congratulations girls!!! BUT..
………………I have to agree with Marcus though. Liya’s contract was rather brief (compared to other brand faces), but was also a really big thing when she got her contract too. Let’s just hope this isn’t a ‘PR’ thing.

so is liya’s contract up? that would be a real loss. she was flawless in their ads.
congrats to both these girls. i hope constance surprises me. she has fallen flat in vogue in my opinion.

From the beginning I am a fan of Liu Wenn’s beauty. I am so happy for her. She’s truly the Face of Asia.
Congrats Ms Wenn, you just made a historical landmark!

To Gise: Liya has been off their roster for QUITE some time now, quite a shame indeed considering she has a face MADE for beauty shots.
Happy for Liu Wen & Constance though!!

i think du juan has a face more suited to beauty if we’re discussing only asian models best suited for a beauty campaign.

super duper happy to be seeing Liu Wen, seeing another Asian face, in an international beauty campaign of a cosmetic giant again after a long long hiatus from the last one starring Ling Tan for Prescriptives many years back.
once again, Liu Wen follows the footsteps of Ling Tan.
the previous one being walking the Victoria’s Secrets show.

The two are really beautiful and I’m especially happy for Liu, she’s such an elegant, graceful girl. I think that from the perspective of the current global intermingling and fusion of cultures, it is only natural to move towards multi-ethnical cast beauty campaigns. We should celebrate beauty in all its forms and definitions.

Liu!!! So great to see more diversity in american ads! First Liya, now Liu, the world is really changing for better! :)

good on liu wen, but i agree w jake & marcus…. du juan’s face is more timeless and better suited for an international beauty campaign like estee lauder. she just appeal to the mass more than liu’s edgy look

Go Liu Wen <3

well, DU Juan’s face is great for beauty editorial. but, this is Estee Lauder’s campaign, talking about ,selling. they need someone who got a closer face with the Asians, especially the chinese. DU’S face is too special for common people, her personality also makes her keep a distance with them. Liu’s face is not that edgy for chinese.

at 3:18 pm
I agree with Nyxix. Although I prefer Du Juan, Nyxix does have a point about Liu’s “average” look. Still, I am very happy that Liu is representing Estee Lauder!!! Wooo!

I have always dreamt of Du Juan scoring a big Beauty campaign (hopefully Loreal or some other big brands will take her), it will be gorgeous X 10000000000000.

Wait, so now we are celebrating diversity for a beauty campaign b/c the model is the first FRENCH to have an Estee Lauder contract. If she was half black french like Noemie, yeah maybe diversity but diversity just b/c she is French. COME ON

Congratulations to them both!
The images are sure to be classic.
Two lovely women with two lovely faces.
