Ohne Titel F/W 2015
Everything old is new again. Fall finds Ohne Titel designers Flora Gill and Alexa Adams looking to the 1970s for inspiration. The early seventies and its laid back, pre-disco style has become a favored motif amongst young designers, but Gill and Adams have always found ways of making trends their own. Rather than simply rehashing, Gill and Adams infuse vintage-y elements like crochet and fringe with their trademark technical knits. Starting with a vibrant combination of fuchsia, purple and orange on Ronja Furrer the collection built in intensity with each look. Jewel-toned mini-dresses belted with lengthy sashes, chevron striped fur stoles, hot pink motorcycle vests lined with fur and strappy neon sandals competed for attention. A segment filled with glittery separates closed the show and added a final touch of whimsy. Some pieces worked better than others – Line Brems’ sparkling pleated skirt was a highlight, but each element provided another madcap bit of visual interest and an exciting kick off for NYFW.
