032C Debuts F/W 24 Collection
Creative Director of 032C, Maria Koch, debuted her first-ever collection in Paris for the F/W 2024 season style by 032C Fashion Director Ras Bartram. The color palette predominantly featured dark monochromatic hues, including black and navy blue, with subtle touches of white. Koch’s focus centered on creating an ‘urban uniform,’ and Mona Tougaard, who both opened and closed the show, showcased a diverse range—from a silky matching set to a high-low mini dress with a train. The rest of the collection included bomber jackets, top coats, a Canadian tuxedo in teal and auburn, and long leather trench coats. With Koch’s own atelier now established, we can anticipate more collections from the 032C team in the future. [WWD]

Macy’s Lays off 2,300 Employees
Macy’s Inc., the parent company of Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Bluemercury, is implementing layoffs affecting approximately 2,300 employees, constituting 3.5 percent of the retailer’s total workforce. The majority of these cuts are occurring at the corporate office. Additionally, Macy’s is closing down five of its department stores and two furniture galleries. Macy’s explained the decision, stating, “As we prepare to deploy a new strategy to meet the needs of an ever-changing consumer and marketplace, we made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by 3.5 percent to become a more streamlined company.” These layoffs come at an interesting time for the company, considering that just last year, investor group Arkhouse Management and Brigade Capital made a $5.8 billion offer to take the department store chain private.
