For F/W 16, Prabal Gurung gave new meaning to the idea of an ice queen–no austere here, delivering an inviting frost bitten palette of icy blues and pretty hues of rose and orchid, appropriate for a Valentine’s day showing. A little bit heavenly, a little lavish, a lot wintery. Delicate fripperies reminded of the woods: silvery, embroidered feathers, spotted fur coats, wispy hair and pearlescent, glowing skin. The silhouettes, which rarely veered from trim, except when coated in fur, played from the waist out whether it was ivory knitted tops or floaty dresses. The casting was decidedly sylphlike, too, opened by first season Emma Harris and closed by Vanessa Moody, while faces like Amilna Estevao, Pooja Mor and newcomer Olivia Mink filled the equally pristine in-between.
