Models.com 2019 Industry Awards

The Models.com Model of the Year (MOTY) Industry Awards are the voice of over 250 voters representing a wide range of the industry’s top professionals, including many of the industry’s top stylists, designers, photographers, editors, hair and makeup artists and casting directors, and a wide range of the next generation of the industry’s emerging creative talents. Participants include Edward Enninful, Katie Grand, Bethann Hardison, Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele, Melanie Ward, Carlos Nazario, Robbie Spencer, John Pfeiffer, Piergiorgio del Moro, Samuel Ellis, Barbara Nicoli & Leila Ananna, Duffy, Hung Vanngo, Thomas De Kluyver, Fara Homidi, Sil Bruinsma and many more!

Fashion’s biggest fans also got in on the fun: the Readers’ Choice section offers an up-to-date and often surprising selection chosen by you, the MDC readers. The people have spoken – tens of thousands of them in fact and their choices are every bit as exciting as those provided by insiders.

The awards are broken down in 11 categories as follows:

Model of the Year: Women

  1. Fendo says:

For your judges panel please consider adding a more diverse group of voices and that means thinking beyond black and white industry voters. Please let the black and white trend a thing of the past when 2020 arrives.

  2. Lily says:

Really strange to see Xiao Wen Ju as a comeback queen as she hasn’t really been hiding under a rock, like ever. Raquel’s nomination for “best comeback” also annoyed me once again, she’s never gone away.

  3. Johnny says:

That Zendaya cover is such an eyesore, what the hell.

  4. Young Lee says:

    All soooooooooooo boring!

  5. Kylie says:

Who the hell voted for Kendall for Model of the Year? Delusion.

  6. Looligaan says:

I think Kris Grikaite should have been consider for the model of the year shortlist.

  7. double m-by miguel says:

I don’t know, I don’t like. And Naomi Campbell, Kendall Jenner, Nathan Westling, Alton Mason, Meghan Roche, Mona Tougaard, Jordan Barrett, Rafael Miller, Leon Dame, Hunter Schafer, Lindsey Wixson, etc, I can’t understand it, honestly.

  8. Dominica Brooks says:

Smh, Finn Wolfhard should’ve won an award.

  9. James M says:

These are all mostly either sympathy votes, pandering, or popularity votes. Very little of it rings true to what is happening in the industry.

  10. HAPP¨Y AND SUCCESSFULL NEW YEAR WORLD OF FASHION LOVE ELSA LAUREXOXOXOXOXO

  11. Karl says:

Very disappointed with winners for most categories. Really wondering what it is they judge upon, even the readers though. Proves that it’s all so subjective.

  12. Karl says:

Like the street style choices besides Adesuwa Aighewi are a complete joke. Like that didn’t even consider what these people truly wear and their aesthetic at all, including their originality. It’s a shame.

  13. CAMILA PATRICIA DOS SANTOS SILVA says:

lindo o rafael miller parabéns <3

  14. Denison Harper says:

Adut Akech and Naomi Campbell are excellent picks. From a purely aesthetic standpoint these two women knock it out of the ball park. First saw Ms. Akech on the Chanel and Fendi ads masterminded by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld himself. She instantly grabbed my attention, hope to see more of her on magazine covers. Naomi Campbell’s body of work speaks for itself no need to add anything there. Would have love to see more of Adowa Aboah, Anok Yai, Zaina Gohou Karen Joigny, Herieth Paul, and Aya Jones. Great picks for 2019! except for Xiao Wen Ju, Kendal Jenner pick and Tae Min Park choices.
