Sui He by David Urbanke for Models.com
With her innate elegance and striking good looks, Sui He has quickly become one of the most in demand models on the scene. As the current face of Ralph Lauren and one of the stars of Vogue China‘s anticipated anniversary issue, Sui is definitely having a moment. MDC caught up with the girl of the minute for a brief chat about pre-show jitters, future projects and what it was like working on that incredible cover.
MDC: How long have you been modeling?
Sui He: Actually four years but before I was a student as well so I didn’t have the time to do it. Last year was my first big season, I finally had the time to really model.
MDC: What is your favorite part of the job?
Sui He: For me I think shooting is my strength, on the runway I can be nervous. I love taking the walk down the runway, but at the same time it is a lot of pressure because you don’t want to go out there and fall down! Shooting is easier for me because I always know that the photographer will choose the best pictures.
MDC: You’ve already been a part of some amazing shoots – what has been your personal favorite so far?
Sui He: I loved doing the Ralph Lauren campaign, that was such a beautiful experience. I also loved working with Inez and Vinoodh, the entire shoot for Vogue China was amazing, definitely a high point! It was wonderful to be a part of that cover and to share the experience with girls like Ming, Liu, Fei Fei, Du Juan and Shu Pei.
MDC: Any plans for the future?
Sui He: I just want to keep working and always remember to try my best. I don’t want to pressure myself to be a supermodel, but I do want to continue to work with incredible people. In the future I’d like to use my experiences in fashion to branch out and maybe create a business. I would absolutely love to own a restaurant one day. I love food: French, Italian, Chinese, everything!
