Demarchelier’s Day

“When you look at one of the fashion images… gathered in this exhibition, you believe implicitly that even the most austere of pictures is grounded in a reality, a vision of a woman living her life, looking more gorgeous than she ever has before, or probably ever will do again.” excerpt from Anna Wintour‘s forward to Patrick Demarchelier‘s new book. ¬†Judging from the throngs of fans and well wishers Wednesday night at Clic Gallery, many are in complete agreement with Ms. Wintour. Patrick’s breathtakingly incredible and long career is highlighted in his stunning tome, shooting some of the most legendary models, celebrities, entertainers and royalty of our time. We chose just 3 memorable images (so difficult to choose amongst the 400 pages!) but to see the rest, you’ll just have to make this a must have on your holiday wish list.

Rie Rasmussen and Suzanne Diaz lean in for a chat.

Mr Hamish Bowles always takes a great pic.

Makeup artist Frank B and photographer Mario Sorrenti congratulate Pascal Dangin, Patrick’s longtime friend and retoucher, who designed the book.

One of our favorite portraits of Kate Moss and Carla Bruni on the walls at Clic Gallery.

Janet Jackson‘s iconic album cover; one of the earliest portraits in the book: Isabella Rossellini with a young Elettra Wiedemann; Linda Evangelista in one of the most memorable covers ever for Harper’s Bazaar.

  1. Oh my god, Kate Moss hasn’t looked like that in a long, long, loooong time. You kind of forget just how utterly lovely she used to be.

  2. do not miss the opportunity to express their respect to the master
    these photographers
    are forced to stand still
    forever changing face of fashion.
