The Man Who Loved Women

Director Hubert Woroniecki is working to create “CASABLANCAS”, a documentary about the legendary and oft controversial founder of Elite Model Management, John Casablancas, who himself gave the director full access to his archives (articles, TV interviews, personal pictures and films throughout the years). Hubert worked at Elite for five years with the storied supermodel pioneer and in a letter stating his approval, Casablancas writes, “…I am just sad I won’t be around anymore by the time it’s released,” and that “…it could be a very fun walk down memory lane.” The project went up on Kickstarter yesterday with hopes of getting the film funded.

“This is the story of John Casablancas – the man who founded Elite Model Management, created an empire and led a life that reads like a make believe, high rolling, glamorous romp through the fashion industry during the last three decades of the twentieth century. This is a man who is larger than life both in public and in private, for whom a half measure is no measure at all.  He is an important cultural figure of the last three decades, he invented the concept of “Supermodel”, renewed all the rules within the fashion, advertising and entertainment industries and revealed the most beautiful women to the world: Cindy Crawford, Iman, Stéphanie Seymour, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Gisèle Bündchen, & more. “
