MEMORABLE MOMENT: Exactly one year ago I met Flower Mak outside on the street in NY after a show. She is by far the biggest fan of a select group of male models, so when I could do her a favor I didn’t even think for a second. After finishing the J.Crew presentation I walked outside and guess who was there? Flower Mak. Happy and shy as she was, I gave her a big hug and talked to her for a bit. It makes me happy to see people smile by just giving them a feeling of appreciation.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: My most memorable moment was being able to come to New York and see the city. So far, every show I’ve done has been really nice. I did my last show for J. Crew. I was sleeping in my bed and it was around 8 in the morning. My agent calls me and tells me I have to rush to the show. I hadn’t done any castings or fittings for them. I went straight to the show and they put me in the first look. It was a bit weird, but everyone was super nice. I also had a moment to go see tennis and some other entertainment things. I like to go relax in the park because I like to spend time in nature, and so far, in New York, Central Park has been the perfect place for me.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: I was at a shoot for i-D way out in Brooklyn after shows in June. It was really far from pretty much any subway stop. I was just finishing up the shoot. We got the pictures and they were looking good. Right as we took my last picture these humungous, unbelievable storm clouds started coming in. All the photographers were whipping out their cameras and taking pictures. These were incredible clouds. The whole city turned dark immediately. Everyone’s just standing looking out these huge windows in the studio, and I’m standing there thinking “This is so cool, and I’m about to have to walk home in this.”

SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Givenchy (Exclusive)
MEMORABLE MOMENT: Since I started modeling I’ve had so many memorable moments and have had amazing opportunities to work with great people. If I had to choose one, I would say it is when I opened the Givenchy show in Paris. It was an eye opening experience since it was my very first show. I feel honoured to have worked alongside such an amazing artist and person, Riccardo Tisci.

SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Berluti, Canali, Dolce & Gabbana, Fashion Rocks 2014, Fendi, Givenchy, Perry Ellis, Ports 1961, Richard Chai, Y-3
MEMORABLE MOMENT: Fashion week to me is an amazing time. All of the shows and events are always a good laugh as you get to catch up and have a good time with old friends that you don’t necessarily get to see throughout the year. You also get to meet new people within the industry. My highlight of the most recent fashion week was the Givenchy show and after-party. It was a pleasure to do the show. At the after-party, all of the supermodels floating around, the music, and open bar– I was in my element.

MEMORABLE MOMENT: I got sick in Milan. I did a good season in London and I went to Milan to try to do good, but I got sick. I had laryngitis and a fever. I could hardly leave my home, but the show must go on. So I had to keep working. I did it, and in the end I had a good season in Milan and Paris.

SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Dolce & Gabbana
MEMORABLE MOMENT: My most memorable moment from the SS15 season was meeting Chris Hemsworth at the Dolce & Gabbana show. Thor is a major figure in Norse Mythology so the character has always been a part of our history. And the actor is really approachable and talented. To top it off, Domenico and Stefano were amazing to work with, and I hope to work with them again.

SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Richard Chai & Public School
MEMORABLE MOMENT: My first season in NY I got lost so many times, circling for blocks and blocks. I wound up taking cabs everywhere, even though I would often find that my next casting was just 2 blocks away from the where I was – hahaha. Everything looked confusing. What’s Queens? What’s Brooklyn? What’s downtown? What’s uptown? What direction is east, west, north, or south? And what kind of number is this: 350 W. 36th St? I didn’t know anything about America, but I had to figure out everything my first show season. It was very challenging. For lots of the castings, now, I can make a plan for where I should go first and last based on the address. I don’t have to take a cab anymore. Everything seems much easier because I don’t have to ask people things like, “Where is this place? What street are we on?” Plus, my English was so horrible my first season that I couldn’t even ask that much. With season after season, my English got better by learning from models, friends, and clients. Because of modeling and fashion weeks I learned a lot of things quickly. I still can’t forget how fun my first season was, just being in NY for the first time and getting to know the city because of the castings.

HOMETOWN: London, UK
SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Bottega Veneta, Emporio Armani, Versace
MEMORABLE MOMENT: I was chosen to do the Ermanno Scervino presentation in Florence. Prior to the start of the presentation we were instructed to have no interaction with the guests whatsoever. But then Kanye West walked over to inspect my look. I told him that his music is sick, he told me my look was nice, so we’re essentially pals. I’ve yet to hear from him but I’m looking forward to chilling with him soon.

SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Prada (Exclusive), Anna Sui, Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche, Lacoste, Richard Chai, Tim Coppens
MEMORABLE MOMENT: My most memorable moment from this season was also my first job ever. It was when I opened Prada in Milan as an exclusive. Nobody had explained to me what it would be like the day of the show. Backstage was full of photographers. They were circling around me, and I had to do interviews before the show. There was a television backstage and you could see people as they arrived around the swimming pool. It was a little stressful, but at the same time it was very cool and exciting. The moment that was my favorite was when I started to walk. The music was quiet at that moment, and I had to walk with no music. It was six hours of prep coming together in two minutes.

HOMETOWN: Oslo, Norway
SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Billy Reid, Burberry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Hood by Air, Kenzo, Siki Im
MEMORABLE MOMENT: My most memorable moment would be stepping out on the runway for Burberry. It was just such an insane experience, and I was so in awe at the whole thing as it was my first show. My legs were shaking uncontrollably during the rehearsal, and I remember thinking to myself, “There is no way I can possibly do this.” But once I stepped out in the show I got this massive rush of adrenaline that lasted until the next day! First thing I did when the show was over was run outside and ring my mum – she was crying, bless her!
Travis Cannata
HOMETOWN: Palm Coast, FL
SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Dolce & Gabbana
MEMORABLE MOMENT: The thing I love the most about the industry is how spontaneous it is. You really have to learn how to adapt and go with the flow of things. Like the time I was trying on all the clothes for the Dolce & Gabanna show and Domenico looks at me and tells me that I’m going to open the show. You hear news like that and it’s exciting but scary. It’s like “Yes! … wait that’s tomorrow.”
Wojtek Czerski
HOMETOWN: Walbrzych, Poland
SS15 HIGHLIGHTS: Dolce & Gabbana, Dries Van Noten, J. Crew, Robert Geller, Thom Browne
MEMORABLE MOMENT: Every fashion week is remarkable. I love it because of the new adventures that come with each new season. For me, most memorable moment was one day of castings in Paris about a year ago. I had a busy day ahead of me, which started with a Phillip Lim fitting. On my way to the fitting I found a big hole in my pants. So I’m walking around covering myself with my hands trying my best to prevent a wardrobe malfunction. When I reached the Phillip Lim showroom I asked for some safety pins to try to fix it. After a couple minutes the designer sees me and offers to help. He took my pants, sat in front of the sewing machine, and after 30 seconds the problem was solved. It was really nice of him to take the time out to personally help me. He saved me quite a bit of embarrassment. This story I will remember for a long time as well as my pants, which are still in good condition and probably worth a bit more money now.
