Chanel Acquires Charvet
Chanel has acquired Charvet, the 188-year-old shirtmaker on Place Vendôme and the oldest of its kind in France, ending nearly two centuries of independent ownership by the Colban family. The acquisition follows a creative dialogue between Matthieu Blazy and Charvet that began when Blazy approached the house to produce shirts for his debut Chanel S/S 26 collection. The resulting oversize cotton button-ups, weighted with a signature Chanel chain at the hem, became among the most talked-about pieces of the spring 2026 season. Charvet’s entire production is concentrated in a single workshop in Saint-Gaultier in the Indre region, which Chanel has committed to preserving alongside the brand’s creative independence. “Charvet is a beautiful jewel. Now there’s work to be done to set it up for its next steps,” said Bruno Pavlovsky, president of fashion activities at Chanel. [WWD]

Paolo Roversi Opens Doubts Exhibition at the MOP Foundation in A Coruña
Paolo Roversi’s Doubts exhibition opened at the MOP Foundation in A Coruña, Spain on June 20 and runs through September 2026. Organised by the foundation’s founder and president Marta Ortega Pérez, the exhibition brings together iconic works and previously unseen images across nine interconnected rooms, each exploring a distinct aspect of Roversi’s aesthetic: Theatre, Appearances, Shadows, Doubts, People, Presence, Grace, Beauty, and Fading. Roversi chose the title because for him doubt is “the open door to creativity and imagination, whereas certainty closes that door.” The show is the MOP Foundation’s second summer exhibition. Roversi, who has worked closely with the world’s leading fashion houses for over four decades, is known for his Polaroid work, his use of light and blur, and a studio practice he describes as “an empty stage waiting to be filled.”
