Versace Taps Pieter Mulier as Chief Creative Officer
A week after news broke that Pieter Mulier would be leaving Alaïa, it was announced yesterday that he is set to join Versace, succeeding Dario Vitale. Mulier will begin his role on July 1 and report to Versace executive chairman Lorenzo Bertelli. His final show for Alaïa will take place during the upcoming Paris Fashion Week season, while Versace, which was recently acquired by the Prada Group, is notably absent from the upcoming Milan Fashion Week calendar. Bertelli said, Mulier was “identified as the right person for the role of designer of the brand. We are confident he will fully express Versace’s potential and create a profound dialogue with the history and the distinctive aesthetics of the brand; we are enthusiastic about starting this journey together.” [WWD]
