Dior Taps Jonathan Anderson as Its eighth Couturier, Sander Lak Returns, and more news you missed

Dior Taps Jonathan Anderson as Its eighth Couturier
Dior has appointed Jonathan Anderson as creative director of its women’s, men’s, and haute couture collections. He becomes the house’s eighth couturier and will debut his first women’s ready-to-wear collection during Paris Fashion Week in October, following his menswear debut on June 27th. Anderson succeeds Maria Grazia Chiuri, who joined Dior in 2016 as artistic director of women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories. Her Cruise 2026 show in Rome marked her final show for the brand. Anderson said, “I am incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to unite Dior’s women’s, men’s and couture collections under a single, cohesive vision. My instinct is to be led by the house’s empathetic spirit, established by Dior himself. I look forward to working alongside its legendary ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Bernard Arnault and Delphine Arnault for their trust and loyalty over the years.” [WWD]

Sander Lak Returns
Sander Lak, the Dutch designer behind Sies Marjan, the beloved New York label of the late 2010s, is launching an eponymous collection. While focused on menswear, the line is designed to be inclusive and for everyone. Lak said, “For me, it’s a huge thing. It’s my name, it’s my company. It’s not a relaunch, but it is something new, something on my own terms. I’m not allowed to say scared; I’m only allowed to say excited, but it is a little bit scary.” Lak rose to prominence quickly after debuting Sies Marjan in 2016 with backing from Nancy and Howard Marks. By 2018, he had won the CFDA’s Emerging Designer of the Year award, earning praise for his signature use of bold color. The label shuttered in 2020 due to the pandemic. [Vogue]
