Men’s Fashion Week Is Here
Milan Fashion Week kicks off today and extends through January 15th. Dior Is Headed to the Brooklyn Musuem for Pre-Fall
Dior is set to host its pre-fall 2024 fashion show on April 15th at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. The collection, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri is a homage to the “unwavering ties forged between Dior and the United States from the very beginning of the house.” The brand’s previous pre-fall show in March, held in India at the Gateway of India overlooking the Arabian Sea, was followed by a holiday takeover of Saks Fifth Avenue’s windows and store interior last year. Now, with the upcoming collection at the Brooklyn Museum, these two activations are solidifying the brand’s deepening roots in the US. [WWD]

ANDAM Taps Anthony Vaccarello as a Mentor
In celebration of ANDAM’s 35th anniversary, the French fashion competition has chosen former winner Anthony Vaccarello as a mentor for its 2024 edition. This marks the first time a designer, rather than an executive, will guide the winners. Vaccarello, who won the award in 2011 and later on became the creative director of Saint Laurent, a corporate sponsor of the award, will personally select additional guest members for the jury. The designer said, “ANDAM is very important for Saint Laurent and myself. It was presided over by Monsieur Pierre Bergé from the first contest and for almost 30 years, and I had the chance to be one of the prize winners. For those reasons, I am sincerely honored to join as president of the jury for this special anniversary edition.” The grand prize winner will receive 300,000 euros, and the runner-up 100,000 euros. Vaccarello will mentor both winners for a year, focusing on both the creative and strategic aspects of their businesses. Notable past winners include Viktor & Rolf, Christophe Lemaire, Jeremy Scott, and Marine Serre. The 2023 prize was awarded to French designer Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, with Ester Manas and Duran Lantink receiving the runner-up Special Prize. [WWD]

Harry Styles Invests in S.S. Daley
Just as S.S. Daley‘s fall show in Florence debuted during Pitti Uomo, the British designer and 2022 recipient of the LVMH Prize for Young Designers, announced that Harry Styles, a longtime fan of the brand, is acquiring a minority stake in the company. The designer said, “Harry and I have a shared vision for the future of S.S. Daley and we look forward to this new chapter together as we focus on brand longevity and scaling the business into a modern British heritage house.” The connection between the two was facilitated by Styles’ stylist, Harry Lambert, responsible for sourcing looks for the artist’s “Golden” music video, featuring recent looks from Stokey-Daley’s graduate collection. The investment aims to boost S.S. Daley’s direct-to-consumer business and formulate plans for sustainable, long-term expansion, as stated by the company. [WWD]

Premier Models Contest
London model agency Premier is dedicated to supporting emerging talents and creativity through a drawing competition that featured up-and-coming fashion illustrators. This initiative provides a platform for illustrators like Moritz Ryser and Lucy Sell to showcase their work. Moritz Ryser said, “It was a pleasant surprise to discover Premier’s competition in a world where traditional fashion illustration has taken on a niche role. After submitting my initial work and being selected for the next round, I was thrilled about it being a live drawing session. Therefore my final designs aim to adhere as closely to the live drawings as possible, maintaining the raw nature of working in traditional media. Thank you Premier for hosting this.” Collaborating with Ever Press and British model Lara Mullen, the agency has created limited edition tees. All proceeds from tee sales will support Create charity and the young fashion illustrators. To purchase these exclusive tees and contribute click here.
