This Just In!

Its 8.15 pm on a Friday evening in the MDC offices.A long week of shifting through the new girls is done. The computer burbles as a new e-mail comes in and you open the attachment. On the screen blossoms the image of former MDC cover girl Anne V. And she is wearing a pink bikini (just in time for the FW 04 Collections). After two minutes of silence processing the implications of this stunning comeback, you get back on the computer and dutifully add a new item to this very OTM. Looks like Miss V will be quite the direct booking this season!

Major For Tiiu!

Ethereal Tiiu has been transforming into quite a fashion powerhouse in the past few weeks. With a career changing Only Girl editorial in Harper's Bazaar that deftly communicated how elegant she could be, it looks like Tiiu is now ready for primetime. Which makes the rumors of a massive fragrance contract for this seventeen year old beauty all the more intruiging. Let's just say if that one gets locked then a new star is certainly born. Stay tuned.

Hail Hannelore

She took a year off to work with Azzedine Alaia, but it certainly looks like the newly blonde Belgian icon Hannelore is back in the editorial A-list. With front and center positioning in the current Prada ads and cool snaps in the current issue of Vogue Italia with Steven Meisel. Hannelore should be an intriguing presence at the upcoming shows. And if she ever tires of the catwalk, a certified career as a major fashion editrix is hers to claim. God bless the girls who really love fashion...Speaking of girls who love fashion, the buzz circulating through the NY castings is that its going to be a New Faces season. With shops as diverse as IMG, Vision, Supreme, 1 Management and Marilyn importing upwards of 15 totally new models each, MDC has been running from outpost to outpost tracking the hottest of the hot. We have our favorites and we look forward to previewing them for your pleasure starting next week.

When SVM signed up MDC member Shannon, little did they know that this cool Vermont discovery would be nabbing a gig at Teen Vogue in only his first week in NY. With Raymond Meier behind the lens, we know the pictures are going to be seriously A-list! More to come!

Now That's What We Call a Winner

It was quite a bonanza at last Tuesday's Ford Supermodel Of The Year finals. From the beautifully orchestrated show to the massive after-party, Ford was clearly in the mood to flaunt the brand value. The biggest windfall of all however, has to be the future bounty that the winner, Nataliya G, represents. As yet unbooked, this 19 year old Ukranian beauty walked like a veteran show girl, fitted clothes like a dream and charmed the cameras backstage. She is the stuff that model agent dreams are made of no?

Its that time of year again when the NY agencies wrack their brains to come up with a fetching new design principle for their show packages. First out of the gate this year is the ambitious crew at 1 Management with an eye-popping, ultra pop display that features 50 individual varitions on the "1" logo for each show girl. Catching our eye is An Ost with the longer hair and the sexy body. Talk about re-vamp. And with 15 new faces hitting the rounds for "1" , its going to be interesting to see their final tally at season's end. Stay tuned!

Just in time to remind the market of why she is so inimitable comes the new issue of French Vogue with Texan beauty Erin Wasson blazing the cover. Notice how much cleaner the magazine's design aesthetic has gotten !...And starting next week, MDC commences previewing the freshest new faces flooding NY for the FW 04 casting. With a digi-cam in one hand and the laptop in the other we'll be speeding you the first glimpses of all the new sensations! ( Milan on line 2 !)

This All-American beauty clocking in at 5"' 11" with this clean, wholesome aura and that on camera bravado is just the kind of girl you want to put sky high on your must-see list for FW O4 castings. Naomi Campbell's personally appointed successor, Nakiesha Robinson surfaces most audaciously in the S/S 04 D+G ads dropping in the Febuary magazines hitting the stands. One of the more recent sensations to jump from the London Fashion Week platform, Nakiesha is currently sitting high on the request lists for FW 04 NY shows. Says Dewight Peters, her mother agent at Saints International in Jamaica "Nakeisha's unique features, amazing body and blazing personality makes her a cut above the rest. She'll be in the game for a very long time" If this girl's self-assured performance at the Julien McDonald and Missoni shows is Nakeisha's standard action, then there just might be prophesy in those words.

The Canadian advance marches on with our favorite gamine (see OTM May 03), Lisa Cant, going big league with bookings for Italian Vogue with Meisel, The Face with Greg Lotus, V mag with Laurie Bartley, L'Uomo Vogue with Ellen von Unwerth and Teen Vogue w. Satoshi Saikusa. And if Donald Trump's operatic performance on his new NBC reality show, The Apprentice has whetted your appetite for more Trump TV then stay tuned for the iconic Isabella Rossellini in a recurring role on the hot TV show Alias (playing the sister of Lena Olin's character). Very exciting also is former MOTW Ming, currently shooting a Maybelline spot with Erin Wasson/IMG. We love it when nice girls finish first!
