While many models are just starting to lend their names to various charities, Patricia Velasquez (supermodel and accomplished actress) has been a tireless activist year after year with the Wayuu Taya Foundation. The foundation, created by Patricia to raise money for women and children living in poverty in Latin America is now in its 7th year. Last week’s 6th Annual Fundraising Gala was co sponsored by Donna Karan and held at the Stephen Weiss/Urban Zen Foundation and honored humanitarians and social activists. Various industry luminaries came to support Patricia including honoree supermodel and activist Christie Brinkley as well as longtime friend Narciso Rodriguez and Donna Karan herself.
