Lorenzo Serafini took a more colorful lightweight approach for his S/S 27 Alberta Ferretti collection, titled A Beautiful Escape, drawing on 1920s choreography and a sense of freedom of movement. The collection unfolded in three parts; the first leaned fully into color, with bold, lightweight grass-print motifs in tones like blood orange, mustard, and shades of topaz on balloon pants, sarongs, and layered dresses. The second act pulled back into a more monochrome palette but with plenty of character, like the white crochet dresses layered with feathers, or the black pants finished with feathers along the bottom to add some drama to a simpler silhouette. The final act brought color back again, this time through lace, with over five multicolored dresses featuring lace in velvet and satin, closing the show on jade, grey, and powder pink slip dresses. Heels were hardly in sight; the shoe of the collection was the ballet flat, with models walking as though on the beach or on the streets of Milan. Just as fall approaches, Alberta Ferretti gave us a bit of summer to hold on to.
