Francesco Risso Exits Marni
After nearly a decade at the helm, Francesco Risso is exiting Marni. Risso joined the Italian house at a pivotal moment for its parent company, OTB Group. Though he stepped into the role without prior experience as a creative director, he quickly steered Marni into a new era of cultural relevance and creative success. Renzo Rosso, chair of OTB Group, who promoted Risso to the top job at Marni, said: “Francesco has embraced the spirit and the values of the house, and together with the team brought them to new grounds, building the foundations for a new and exciting chapter of Marni. Francesco is a unique designer and an artist at heart, and I wish him only the best for the future.” Before his time at Marni, Risso spent eight years working alongside Miuccia Prada at Prada, after early stints with Alessandro Dell’Acqua in Milan and Anna Molinari at Blumarine. Risso said, “I will always be grateful to Renzo for believing in me, for giving me the front seat on a journey that became more than I could have imagined. Marni has been a studio, a stage, a dream. It carried color, instinct, care, and gave space for people to be themselves. It taught me how to build with feeling and how powerful true collaboration can be. Thank you to the whole Marni team, and to all the friends who joined along the way, and here’s to more extraordinary journeys ahead!” OTB has yet to announce Risso’s successor. When they do, it will mark another key move in the group’s evolving creative lineup, which includes Simone Bellotti’s recent appointment at Jil Sander and Glenn Martens’ expanded role at Maison Margiela. Ben Gorham Leaves Byredo
Ben Gorham is stepping down from Byredo, the Swedish luxury beauty and lifestyle brand he founded in 2006. Reflecting on the transition, Gorham shared, “Puig’s experience in beauty and fashion will be instrumental in the brand’s future growth and will help Byredo unlock its potential across multiple categories. I am proud of what we were able to achieve over a 20-year journey and am confident in a bright future for Byredo.” Byredo currently offers 37 fragrances, all created with longtime collaborator and perfumer Jérôme Épinette, including 31 eaux de toilette and six extraits de parfum. Among its most iconic scents: Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost. [WWD]
