Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez Head to Loewe
After much speculation, it’s official: Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough + Lazaro Hernandez are stepping in as the new creative directors of Loewe, starting April 7th. The announcement follows the recent exit of Jonathan Anderson, who officially stepped down last week after an influential 11-year tenure. Their appointment has only fueled further buzz around Anderson’s rumored move to Dior—particularly since both brands are under the LVMH umbrella. In their new role, McCollough and Hernandez will oversee all creative aspects of Loewe, including womenswear, menswear, leather goods, and accessories. In a joint statement, the designers shared: “We look forward to working alongside its extraordinary teams and artisans, whose talent — under the exceptional creative direction of Jonathan Anderson — has shaped Loewe into the cultural force it is today,” they continued. “We extend our sincere gratitude to Bernard Arnault, Delphine Arnault, Sidney Toledano, and to Pascale Lepoivre for entrusting us with this remarkable house’s next chapter.” All eyes will be on the duo as they lead Loewe into a new era. Ib Kamara Exits Dazed, Ted Stansfield Is His Succesor
After four years at Dazed Magazine, Ib Kamara is stepping down as editor-in-chief. His final issue will be published in June. Since his appointment in 2021, Kamara has helped shape the magazine’s visual identity, championing emerging creatives and introducing a global perspective through bold, striking imagery. Throughout his tenure, Dazed featured cover stars such as Rihanna, Taylor Russell, and Dua Lipa. “It’s been a dream and an honour being at Dazed over the last four years. I can’t thank all of the teams and collaborators enough for their incredible creativity and hard work,” Kamara said. He was appointed art and image director of Off-White in 2022, and departs as Dazed approaches its 30th anniversary. Succeeding Kamara, Ted Stansfield will be promoted to editor-in-chief of Dazed in June, transitioning from his current roles as editorial director of Dazed Digital and AnOthermag.com, and editor of AnOther Man. The first issue edited by Stansfield will be published in September. Stansfield joined Dazed Media as a fashion writer over a decade ago before rising through the ranks. He will step down from his roles at AnOthermag.com and AnOther Man starting in June. Dazed also appointed Dominique Sisley as editorial director, Serena Smith as deputy editor, Imruh Asha as fashion and image director, Ana Takahashi as beauty editor-at-large, Laura Pitcher as U.S. editor, and Ester Mejibovski as art director. Zara Mirkin will continue her role as fashion editor-at-large. [BoF] [WWD]
Vogue World Heads to Hollywood for Its 2025 Edition
Vogue World is coming to Hollywood. On October 26, 2025, the fourth edition of the global event will take place at the iconic Paramount Pictures lot, the oldest film studio in Los Angeles and home to classics like Sunset Boulevard and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. This year, the focus is on the relationship between fashion and film. All ticket proceeds will go to the Entertainment Community Fund to support costume designers impacted by the recent California wildfires. In partnership with the Costume Designers Guild and the ECF, Vogue will help identify and assist those most directly affected. Arianne Phillips (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Colleen Atwood (Edward Scissorhands), Catherine Martin (Moulin Rouge!), and Ruth E. Carter (Black Panther) are among the renowned costume designers involved in this year’s edition. For Atwood, the event hits close to home—she lost her house in the Palisades fire earlier this year. Dame Pat McGrath will lead makeup, with creative direction by Juan Costa Paz and styling by Alex Harrington. Students from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television’s Costume Design program will also contribute to production. Visit West Hollywood is assisting with hospitality and accommodations, and Governor Gavin Newsom has pledged support for expanding the state’s Film and Television Tax Credit Program, reinforcing California’s commitment to keeping film and television production local. Mugler Taps Miguel Castro Freitas as New Creative Director
Miguel Castro Freitas is set to succeed Casey Cadwallader as the creative director of Mugler, according to parent company L’Oréal. With 20 years of experience, the Portuguese designer graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2004 and was handpicked by John Galliano to work at Dior shortly after. Since then, he has held roles at Yves Saint Laurent under Stefano Pilati, Lanvin alongside Alber Elbaz, and most notably, served as head of tailoring at Christian Dior under Raf Simons, head of womenswear at Dries Van Noten, and creative director of Sportmax from Spring/Summer 2021 to Spring/Summer 2024. Freitas said, “It is an honour to join the spectacular house of Mugler. As one of the twentieth century’s great couturiers, Mr Mugler reimagined the power and limits of fashion. Alongside the teams, I am thrilled to bring my own vision, story and emotion to this monumental heritage.” During Cadwallader’s seven-year tenure, Mugler became a go-to label for performers and celebrities such as Beyoncé, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Dua Lipa. Following in founder Thierry Mugler’s footsteps, Cadwallader was also recognized for championing diverse and inclusive casting. Amid the pandemic, he made the bold choice to pivot from traditional runway shows to a series of fashion films directed by Torso, which coincided with Mugler’s shift to a see-now, buy-now model—allowing customers to shop the collections the moment the films went live. Freitas’s debut show for Mugler is scheduled for September during the Spring/Summer 2026 season—a packed calendar that also includes the highly anticipated debuts of Matthieu Blazy at Chanel, Demna at Gucci, Louise Trotter at Bottega Veneta, and Mark Howard Thomas at Carven. Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit: A Fundraiser for Trans Justice
At a crucial time in politics, with the current administration pushing an anti-DEI agenda, communities are coming together to rally against this. Mother, Daughter, Holy Spirit (MDHS) is a three-part fundraiser for the Trans Justice Funding Project, co-organized by Bobbi Salvör Menuez and John Mollett. The first part, “Mother,” will be a salon-style fashion show taking place this Saturday. “Daughter,” meanwhile, is a pop-up boutique and online store that is now live, offering limited-edition t-shirts designed by artists, activists, and public figures. The list of contributors includes Aimee Lou Wood from The White Lotus and her sister Emily Wood, Chloë Sevigny, Eileen Myles, Miranda July, Julio Torres, artist and photographer Michael Bailey Gates, lawyer and activist Chase Strangio, poet Precious Okoyomon, photographer Ryan McGinley, and more. Actor Pedro Pascal recently wore one of the shirts, which reads “Adult Content,” during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The final part of the fundraiser, “Holy Spirit,” will consist of a closing party to celebrate the joy and beauty of the trans community, “which shines beyond this dark moment in history,” the organization said. Raul Lopez’s Luar Reminds Fashion Who It’s For
While an unnerving news cycle loomed over the February shows and many designers alluded to the “tough times” [financial or cultural] or ignored them entirely, opting for an escape, Raul Lopez stepped up to the critical moment with a Luar F/W 25 collection that made a statement on the encroaching threats to the LGBT+ and immigrant community. Luar’s collection, titled “El Pato,” reclaims a slur with powerful storytelling, fusing together cocooning wool tailoring, feathered silhouettes, and bold messages like “I Talk Shit About You In Spanish.” Directed by Will Pippin at the now-storied WSA, Models.com went behind the scenes to witness Lopez’s process leading up to the show, the palpable backstage energy, and his reminder that LUAR isn’t building community, it is community.
