Xavier Scott Marshall was born in NYC and is a first generation Trinidadian-American. Raised in Brooklyn, Southern California and Pittsburgh, his curiosity for photography started at an early age while documenting his surroundings and preserving the fleeting moments of youth.

Xavier’s work reflects on the ideologies of relationships through the lens of family, faith and identity. He photographs glorifying portraits and reinterpretations of the diaspora with relatives, friends and strangers alike; presenting them as celestial beings by elevating the overlooked and seemingly ordinary. His method includes extensive research, often working with a large format camera and hand processing film.

Xavier is currently based between London and New York City.
