Collina Strada’s F/W 25 Fempire

Collina Strada’s creative director, Hillary Taymour, has never shied away from using fashion as a platform for socio-political commentary, and this season was no exception. The show notes set the tone: “As the Doomsday Clock ticks a second closer to midnight, we dream of turning an upside-down world on its head. Imagine a world where power moves sideways and care is currency. A world that doesn’t just reverse outdated norms but rewrites the script entirely—keeping what works, reconfiguring the rest.” That spirit of radical re-imagination came alive on the runway, where a “fempire” of models—cast by Ignacio Murillo, Kathryn Costigan, and Morgan Senesi—embodied Taymour’s vision of strength, softness, and subversion. Yura Romaniuk opened the show in a floral hooded dress, setting the tone for the collection. Models wore bee-eyed, mask-like sunglasses, adding a surrealist, almost dystopian touch. The standout pieces played with deconstructed silhouettes and unexpected textures: oversized caramel wool hoodies and trench coats, mustard plaid pants, and draped hoodies. A sheer lace bodysuit, punctuated by a dramatic black star across the model’s face, added a moment of delicate rebellion. As the show neared its finale, Taylor Larzo and Dilone shared a runway kiss, both dressed in cropped wedding gowns, blurring the lines between ceremony, celebration, and defiance. The collection furthered Taymour’s continued mission to challenge, redefine, and rewrite the norms of fashion.
