The Most Interesting Models This Season Have A Day Job

Yes, we know you’re expecting Top Newcomers (patience is key!) but Models.com would be remiss to not mention all the creatives we noticed recently taking their own spins on the catwalk. When it comes to casting, it’s nothing new to keep it all in the family and recruit within community, especially if said community helps shoot a campaign or two. It all started with photographer Tyler Mitchell who after his initial stroll at Marni, walked for Wales Bonner this past January. The menswear season saw many of creatives join in on the action whether it was designers Dilara Findikoglu and Edward Buchanan at GmbH or photographer Max Vadukul walking for Yohji Yamamoto Fall 24 Men’s show. In between fashion weeks, photographer Kristina Nagel and designer Stefano Pilati connected with Shayne Oliver in Berlin this season at Anonymous Club (more on Kristina later).

In New York, Fashion Director Carlos Nazario styled and also took a spin at Willy Chavarria this season in a suited culotte look that matched his swag. Photographer Max Farago walked at the Eckhaus Latta F/W 24 show in a full black knit look, blacked-out shades, and underlying sheer layer that showed off the goods. Artist and art director Olympia Scarry has been linked with Proenza Schouler since 2018 and continued her streak while stylist Ian Bradley recently made an appearance baring it all for sporting casual techware label, Outlier.

Meanwhile in Milan, movement director Pat Boguslawski, who has been trending ever since that epic Margiela couture walk he dutifully led, finally took a walk of his own down the Diesel Fall 24 show in a full-distressed denim look. Oliver Misraje, writer and contributing editor at Autre Magazine, was tapped by Marni for their 30th-anniversary bash stage in Stazione Centrale. But get this—he didn’t just write an essay for the show; he also appeared on the runway for the brand for the second time in a monochromatic coffee-colored set topped with a furry textured hat. Photographer and artist Kristina Nagel switched gears after Anonymous Club, turning out even more unconventional pieces at Rick Owens in Paris. With blacked out corneas, her monochromatic chocolate brown furry cloak and leather made her look eerily alien. Even without her collection this season, Mowalola Ogunlesi still made it to the runway for Off-White’s show in a wrap varsity jacket dress in gold, black, and cherry with fringe hemlines. Fresh off a phenomenal press run with actress and fellow former model Hunter Schafer, Interview Magazine Fashion Director Dara Allen dusted off her walking shoes yesterday at Miu Miu in a classic blazer and suit skirt combo, topped off with a light-grey scarf and gloves.
