Pat Boguslawski (b. Poland), is one of the most prominent movement directors working today. His career started to unfold after a chance encounter with Sarah Burton, former Creative Director at Alexander McQueen, who changed his professional life, and sent him on the path of movement and body exploration.

From the age of 25, Boguslawski has spearheaded the new generation of movement innovators, leading the way with an avant-garde creativity and intrepid passion. He is also the first movement director that was listed and recognised by BOF 500, class of 2024.

His own experiences in front of the lens have nurtured his journey into Movement Direction. He was photographed by the acclaimed photographer Tim Walker alongside actress Tilda Swinton, moving, acting, and responding to her on set, and it is this instinctive reaction that sets his work apart. He brings out the best in people in front of a camera or audience, helping them to feel confident, powerful, and cool, while assisting with the creative direction and execution.

It is these qualities that caught the eye of designer John Galliano, with whom Boguslawski has collaborated on Maison Margiela since 2018. They have worked together on the majority of campaigns and shows. Boguslawski was also the mastermind behind many Margiela viral moments, including Leon Dame’s 2020 closing moment, to one of the most iconic runway shows ever, 2024 Artisanal Collection show, with British Vogue later calling Boguslawski, Fashion’s Secret Weapon.

His portfolio boasts work with some of the most revered names in the industry. Alexander McQueen, Maison Margiela, Balenciaga, Gucci, Givenchy, Chanel, Versace, Fendi, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton… To photographers such as Mert and Marcus, Nick Knight, Alasdair McLellan, Craig McDean, Tyrone Lebon and Patrick Demarchelier, and has appeared in the pages of esteemed titles such as British Vogue, Vogue Italia, US Vogue, Vogue France, System Magazine and many more.
