Courrèges Cracks Through the Archival Noise with Futuristic Modernity

Nicolas Di Felice exclaims school’s out of session for the latest Courrèges reveal for the Spring/Summer 2024 season and his new iteration of the Courrèges woman was a youthful, futuristic take on 60s mod that the legacy house was known for. Di Felice started with elevating the classics by twisting t-shirts, polos, and button ups into asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder tunics layered over trousers for a mostly monochromatic 90s offering. Then came the leather with slashed patent leather trousers, flared outerwear with curved hems and a rehash of the off-the-shoulder direction for the moto jackets. 3D printed perspex bras were moulded to the body like an organic, second form while strappy heels pierced the cracked ground the more the models stomped. Casting wise, Piergiorgio Del Moro picked his standard selection of all the cool kids and top walkers to partake in the earth shattering parade including opener Loli Bahia, Lakshmi Menon, Vittoria Ceretti, Natasa Vojnovic, Mona Tougaard, He Cong, Julia Nobis, Anne-Catherine Lacroix, Anok Yai, Malika Louback, and closer Karolina Spakowski in a silver, sparkly number.
