Amongst the shadow of a dark, rainy Saturday, Brooklyn Navy Yard was once again transformed into a colorful wonderland as Christopher John Rogers showcased his 012 Resort runway show. Titled “To Have and to Hold, A Happy Cry”, Rogers once again proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with, as the fashion set clamored to watch his kaleidoscopic palette and evolving visual language. Featuring an array of structurally sound looks that left the audience in awe, Rogers amplified his expertise in dramatic craftsmanship with vivid looks that ranged from voluminous gowns in polka-dotted prints worn by Daria Strokous to crimson, structured pantsuits sported by Ricky Michiels, showcased models of all ages, genders, and ethnicities to a crowd that included Ashley Graham, Quinta Brunson, Antwaun Sargent, Jeremy Pope and Teyana Taylor. In addition to the casting, the creative crew of Jawara and Raoul Alejandre created exceptional beauty looks for the runway with slick backed, yet voluminous tresses adorned with bouquets and pearlescent skin, tinged with lavender that supplemented the overall spectacle.
