Men’s Fashion Month Is Coming Up
Men’s fashion month is swiftly approaching, starting with Pitti Uomo in Florence from Jan 10th-13th and then straight into Milan Fashion Week which runs from Jan 13th – 17th. The weekend looks stacked with a total of 72 events, including 21 runway shows and 31 presentations. Gucci will start the season on the 13th with a live show at 2 pm CET. Other brands showcasing their collections during MFW are J.W. Anderson, Prada, Etro’s first men’s collection by Marco De Vincenzo, Giorgio Armani, and Zegna. Paris Fashion Week will take place from January 17th to the 22nd, with Wales Booner opening on the 17th and Saint Laurent will debut their men’s collection on the same day. Louis Vuitton will show on Dec 19th, Botter will show the next day on Jan 20th, Loewe and Hermès will debut their collections on Jan 21st. Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Sacai will show the following day on Jan 22nd, with Margiela closing out PFW at 8pm. [WWD] [PFW] [WWD]

The CFDA Announces New Leadership Roles
The Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced new leadership roles for the organization. The board unanimously appointed Prabal Gurung and Aurora James as the vice chairs, Maria Cornejo as the secretary, and Stacey Bendet Eisner as the treasurer.They will all start their roles on Jan. 1st when Thom Browne also starts his position as chairman of the CFDA. During the first in-person meeting held since the COVID-19 outbreak, Tracy Reese, Diane von Furstenberg, Norma Kamali, and Reed Krakoff were also reelected as CFDA board members. The CFDA board consists of 18 people who serve six-year terms. [WWD]

Marni Is Heading to Tokyo
After debuting their S/S 23 collection in NYC, Francesco Risso, creative director of Marni, has his eyes set on Tokyo to showcase the brand’s fall 2023 collection. The show will be presented on Feb 1st at 8 pm (GMT+9). Risso said, “A year ago, I decided to stage a series of traveling shows with our team and a crew of musicians to bring energy to different cities and give back to our friends and communities around the world.” CEO Barbara Calò said that Japan accounts “for 23 percent of global sales,” making the country extremely valuable to the Italian brand. Daniel Lee’s Debut Collection for Burberry Drops on February 20th
Earlier in the year, Daniel Lee was appointed chief creative officer of Burberry, replacing Riccardo Tisci. The industry no longer has to eagerly wait to see Lee’s debut collection for Burberry as he plans to unveil his collection on February 20th, 2023 during London Fashion Week. Leading up to the show, a “Burberry Classics” preview campaign will be released. [HighSnobiety]

System Magazine Launches System Beauty
System Magazine is expanding its content offerings with the launch of its new sister publication, System Beauty. The launch is part of Publishing Director Mike Obenson’s strategy to grow System into a media brand rather than solely a publication. Obenson said, “All the main fashion brands have beauty divisions, that most of the time generates most of their revenues, so in my idea to grow the System media brand while keeping our DNA.” System launched in 2013 and grew a cult following due to editor Jonathan Wingfield’s exclusive with Nicolas Ghesiquère on his Balenciaga exit in 2012. Since then, the publication has published issues twice a year, often collaborating with Juergen Teller. [BoF]
