Mahfuz Sultan and Chloe Wayne Sultan release film, “V” in Honor of Virgil Abloh
In collaboration with Vogue, filmmakers and close friends of the late Virgil Abloh, Mahfuz Sultan, and Chloe Wayne Sultan released “V,” a 30-minute film to celebrate his legacy. The documentary includes Bella Hadid, Joan Smalls, Kendall Jenner, Serena Williams, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, and the recently appointed Art and Image director of Off-White, Ib Kamara. Mahfuz said, “We hope that the film displays a cross-section of the diversity of the people he impacted and in turn was impacted by—the world and community that he created around him, the number of people he influenced and touched.” The new film perfectly coincides with the new exhibition “Figures of Speech” at the Brooklyn Museum, curated by Antwaun Sargent, which takes an insightful look at Abloh’s exploration of the communicative power of design. The exhibit is open from July 1st, 2022 to January 29th, 2023. [Vogue]

Kate Moss is the New Creative Director of Diet Coke
Supermodel Kate Moss has a new gig as creative director of Diet Coke. Moss was known for drinking the beverage off-duty and backstage in the early aughts, so the pairing was inevitable. In a role that hasn’t been filled in over a decade, Diet Coke seems like they want to keep the creative role in fashion, as close friend of Moss, Marc Jacobs, previously held the position. Moss said, “I am thrilled to join the Diet Coke family. I love the past collaborations they’ve done with such incredible names in fashion. The ‘Love What You Love’ campaign connected with me instantly as I am a firm believer that with confidence and passion, you can achieve your wildest dreams. As creative director, I’m looking forward to inspiring fans and celebrating the brand’s 40th birthday in style.” [WWD]

Dahye Jeong wins Loewe’s fifth edition of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize. Dedicated to uplifting craft, Jonathan Anderson hosted the finalist’s work at an exhibition at the newly opened Seoul Museum of Craft Art (SeMoCA). Anderson said, “I’ve always loved Korea, and each year we have a lot of finalists from Korea,” he says. “What’s amazing is the protection of craft here, and the level is so high. I want to hold [the Prize] in countries that appreciate craft on a level that is seen as an art form, not just a craft form.” The jury was pleased by Jeong’s ability to uphold tradition, and when describing the basket she designed, Anderson said, “It holds a structure, but at the same time, it’s incredibly light. There’s movement in it, but it’s very resilient.” The exhibition is open from July 1st-30th. [Vogue]
