How discovered:
I was working as a full-time scaffolder in The Netherlands! Whilst I was working on the scaffold, Sjaak Pul from The Troopers drove by on his bicycle and looked at me while I looked back at him, next thing I knew he turned around and gave me his business card with “The Troopers” written on it.
Best modeling experience so far?
Everything I have done so far was more than amazing because I could never have dreamed to do this job, but the best experience came from the Givenchy F/W 22 show where we were walking on a floor that was supported by scaffolds! As a person who worked in the scaffolds, I checked if everything was built correctly :)
Currently you’re obsessed with/about:
Lately, I have been very interested in nature and photography, because I travel a lot around Europe now and see so many different types of nature/parks, etc. This gets me excited to know what lives there and how they survive. Photography came because of modeling, and I prefer to take pictures of nature over actual people.
What is something you’ve always wanted to do/try?
If it’s about model work I really want to do a huge campaign where it is seen on the side of a building or a big billboard. If it’s not about model work I really want to visit the United States once because I have never been there before, maybe I can combine these 2 things into 1!
How do you want to make an impact in the world?
For me it is not about being remembered when I am gone, it’s more about leaving those who I really care about in the best situation I could leave them and that I have the feeling I did everything I could to bring them in that situation.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice ever given to me was said by my grandmother who sadly passed away right before I became a model. She told me that life is too short to wake up every day and worry about all the problems we have and that instead we should wake up and remind ourselves what we are happy about in life.
