New Backers Buy In at Proenza Schouler
Proenza Schouler has been bought back in its entirety by its designers Jack McCollough + Lazaro Hernandez through a new private investor, Mudrick Capital Management. The buyback is from stockholders Castanea Partners and financiers John Howard and Andrew Rosen who were anxious to give up their stakes. In a statement, the newfound fresh capital will reportedly, “enable the brand to expand globally by focusing on its core businesses of luxury ready-to-wear, leather goods and PSWL, as well as continuing to support its existing licensing partners L’Oréal Luxe and Onward Luxury Group SpA.” [WWD]

Lanvin’s men’s designer Lucas Ossendrijver Exits After 14 Years
On Thursday the house of Lanvin released news that Lucas Ossendrijver, its men’s designer, would be exiting the company after 14 years. Bruno Sialelli will be designing both its women’s and men’s collections, WWD has reported. After the brand’s founder, Alber Elbaz, was ousted in 2015 the house has been in a perpetual shuffle with Bouchra Jarrar and Olivier Lapidus both coming and going as designers. Lanvin won’t be present in January at Paris Fashion Week Men’s. [WWD]

Ralph Lauren to Receive Honorary Knighthood
The American designer who just celebrated his eponymous brand’s 50 year anniversary is to receive Honorary Knighthood which will be presented by Queen Elizabeth II next year, WWD reported. He is the first American fashion designer to receive the honor. The British Consul General, Antony Phillipson said of Ralph Lauren (soon to be Ralph Lauren, KBE), “in fashion, business and philanthropy, Mr. Lauren has played a key role in forging transatlantic cultural and economic connections. As creator and visionary of the Ralph Lauren brand worldwide, Mr. Lauren has been a vanguard for the global fashion industry and American style for nearly half a century. In addition, monumental philanthropic efforts, especially in the realm of public health, cancer research, and treatment in both the U.S. and the U.K., have led to benefits felt by citizens around the world.” [WWD]

It has been announced that Ralph Lauren has been made Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of his exceptional achievements in fashion, business, and philanthropy over the last 50 years. . He is the first American fashion designer bestowed with the KBE, the highest honor bestowed to a foreigner, joining a very select group of Americans, including Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and Dwight D. Eisenhower, as well as Steven Spielberg, Bill Gates, and Michael Bloomberg, among others, to receive honorary knighthoods or damehoods. . Louis Vuitton is Coming to NY
The cruise journey continues for Nicolas Ghesquière as today he announced plans to bring French heritage house, Louis Vuitton to the Big Apple. The designer has previously staged shows within architectural feats in Palm Springs, Nice, Kyoto, and Rio de Janeiro.
