Alien stuff and beautiful body futurism arrives at ‘A. Human’ opening

New York–The meaning of well-heeled might soon need updating, or so is speculated at “A. Human”, the inaugural presentation by Simon Huck’s Society of Spectacle, a “live entertainment story telling brand.” Last night, New York Fashion Week-going spectators were invited to marvel at live models whose body parts were modified to H.R. Giger-effect with prosthetics by key collaborations by the likes of Isamaya Ffrench and Nicola Formichetti. Perhaps Huck was inspired by ‘Plato’s Atlantis’, the Spring 2010 collection where McQueen made extraterrestrials out of his waifs. At the presentation, alien-like augmented features like permanently implanted heels, endless eyebrows, tattooed teeth, horns were all things posed as futurist counter realities to the nature of what fashion can or could be. In this reality do hype boys have the Supreme logo implanted into their foreheads? James Jebbia can dream.

The show runs now until September 30th. Tickets are available on www.ahumanbody.com.
