Y-3 Fall/Winter 2012

Yohji Yammamoto and co. were bracing for a mighty wind at Y-3: the designer’s sharply focused fall showing was filled with the kinds of covetable outwear destined to find its way on the backs of tastemakers. As models walked down a runway covered with Persian rugs they showed off the Yohji signatures like nipped waists, and billowing layers. Pattern played a role in the fun, with leopard prints and colorful stripped leggings emblazoned with the Adidas logo, grabbing our attention. Nomads and travel are recurring themes for Yamamoto, but the hi-tech materials and military touches for men, kept things feeling current and fresh.
