Isabeli's Back

Now that she's had her baby and is back in top form, one of the hardest working girls in the business is diving headfirst into the A-list editorial mix. Inaugurating her return to the limelight is Mario Sorrenti, lensing Isabeli for an upcoming story in Paris Vogue (along with Supreme's Laryssa)...In other Supreme news Vicki Andren confirms a gig at Victoria's Secret as well as landing Harper's Bazaar with Tesh while the hot new Jamaican stunner Nadine adds Italian Vogue with Steven Klein to her bounty.

It's looking like a moment for former MDC covergirl Anouck who graces the cover of the current issue of 10 looking sexier than ever. Brains, body and beauty. If that doesn't add up to a perfect 10, what does?

It's sweltering in NY and the streets are awash with gorgeous models-of-the-moment stripped down to their T-shirts and tanks. Funny enough they all seem to be decked out in these cool tops with Asian derived motifs. Turns out the T-shirts are the creation of man-about-town Jameson who whipped up some samples with his design partner Wonderlust. Next thing, that ever cool Soho outpost Bagutta picked up the pieces, which then found their way on the backs of models like Bridget Hall, Adina Foley, Caroline Winberg, and celebs like Foxy Brown, Kevin Spacey, John Stamos, Jada Pinkett-Smith and the Fugee's Pras. See how being a 16 year old coffee boy at the legendary Cafe Tabac can pay off in spades.

We've been sneak previewing the Fall campaigns with a skew towards the women's market so now it's time to give the boys equal play. Looking like the man-of-the moment is none other than former MOTW RJ/IMG with his double hit of Hugo Boss and Valentino dropping on the stands right now. That one always did have that undeniable star quality.

Red hot newcomer Daria/IMG essentially clinches the second it-girl-of-the-season slot with her upcoming V cover, as well as via a suite of point-perfect editorial bookings that stretch from US Vogue to Bazaar to W. Never underestimate the power of Pradaworld...And with the make or break September books on the horizon, who will compete with US Vogue's Nicole Kidman score (coinciding beautifully with Kidman's $5m Chanel bounty). It might be W to the rescue with an issue that our Fairchild spies tell us will be "all about Kate. Page after page after page". A September fashion book focused on a model? God bless em!

You might want to check out the "Editor's Choice" American Photo currently on the newsstands where we crafted a specially commissioned countdown for this best-of-the-best issue. With back to back profiles on top lens men like Terry Richardson and Steven Meisel as well as the best product review section in the business, it certainly looks like the Hachette Filipacchi book is becoming an indispensable industry read.

Will last year's MTA a/k/a Model Turned Actress- an expression coined by MDC -evolve into this year's MTS (Model Turned Singer)? A contingent of star mannequins seem to be getting ready for their MTV moment. The chief contestants are Top 50 face Jamie/1Mgmt (as seen in her star turn on the A&E model special) Karen Elson/DNA and Anouck/IMG. Former MDC covergirl Anouck Lepere is rumored to be drawing on the talents of master producers Puff Daddy, DJ Hell and Felix da Housecat for her musical efforts. Karen Elson in the meantime has been working with her ex-boyfriend Smashing Pumpkin's James Iha. Was Carla Bruni a pioneer? Only time will tell.

Leave it to essential New Yorkers Chloe Sevigny and Terry Richardson to concoct a tribute to a very grimy ideal of style...Speaking of grimy, we could discuss the issue of Richardson 03 currently on the stands but that's not to be touched with a ten foot pole...Speaking of ten, keep a sharp eye out for the upcoming issue of 10. With a killer new cover the hot new book just about leaps into the winner's circle.

Seen at the Gucci presentaion last week at Milk Studios, two of today's hottest new faces, Tiuu (see previous OTM) and Hana. Hana has been lining up everything from a Carolina Herrera fragrance ad (Mert n Marcus) to upcoming editorials with Solve Sunsbo (Japanese Vogue+V) Mario Sorrenti (Bazaar + Paris Vogue) Horst (Numero) as well as Tom Munro and Nathaniel Goldberg (Italian Vogue). Did we neglect to mention the US Vogue with Tom Schenck. Long live the new generation.

Current MDC cover face Julia/Supreme surfaces on the cover of Italian Vogue proving the girl has as an much of a killer body as she does a gorgeous face. Note the matched pink of both pen and swimsuit. Now that's what you call styling!

Amazing Anne

A year ago, in the MDC cover feature on IMG's Anne V, the following observation was made "In the next two years as Anne edges closer to eighteen, as ambition merges with experience and with the alliances she forges in the business, it will be very interesting to see how she will manifest her destiny." It's only a year later and the evidence of this British Vogue cover speaks for itself. Manifest destiny indeed...In other IMG news...our spies spotted rising face Ujwala in London shooting the FW 03 YSL make-up ad...And what do David Bowie and former MDC cover face Natasa V have in common? On A Sad Note

MDC would like to extend its heartfelt sympathy to the friends and family of Thomas Daniel Adams weathering the sudden loss of this rising star in the modeling world. Adams, 22 of Jersey City, NJ and Norwich, died early last Friday in Lisbon at the scene of an automobile accident. Besides his parents, Thomas is survived by his three sisters; Kathleen Adams of Norwich, Jennifer Adams of Central Village, and Christine Lumpkins of Plainfield NJ.

The July books are dropping on the doorsteps and with them come the first glimpse of the new season of ad campaigns. In Bazaar there is a glimpse of the Escada (featuring Raquel/DNA, Trish/IMG, Karen/DNA),and a solo girl Dolce & Gabbana (featuring former MDC cover star Rie/1 Mgmt). In the editorial well of Bazaar is an ultra slick Paris story shot by Mert n Marcus, featuring Prada face Daria/IMG and Max Mara's Letitia/NY Models as well as a drop dead gorgeous editorial featuring current MDC cover girl Julia/Supreme. July's Elle in the meantime holds a gorgeous L'Oreal ad showcasing Natalia/DNA. Looks like the campaigns are having a beautiful moment (as evidenced by Ciara/Marilyn for Chanel accessories)!
