Couture Queen

Yasmin/Next
Keep a sharp eye peeled on Yasmin, the hot newcomer currently blazing brightly at Next Management. After locking her status as one of the best couture mannequins in Paris, Yasmin converted beautifully into the S/S ready-to-wears as one of the ten hottest new runway walkers. As to be expected the exquisite beauty has been racking up quite an impressive booking moment landing a Gap campaign with Mikael Jannsen, Allure fragrance with Patrick DeMarchelier, Ten magazine with Phil Poynter and Italian Vogue with Steven Meisel. Shout out to the inside tipster known as aliengamine (see the Industry Forum) who called the inevitable rise of Yasmin four months ago! (PS. That was indeed Yasmin in the Dec Vogue Galliano story shot by Meisel).

Chloe Forever

Chloe/Vision
She's back and better than ever! Vision's Chloe Winkel, veteran of CK, A/X and Marc Jacobs campaigns is back in circulation now that she has wrapped up her lead role in "The Stratosphere Girl" with director Mattias X Oberg. Shot in Tokyo the film according to producer Christoph Fredel is "in the tradition of Jean-Jacques Beineix's cult classic Diva. It has a lot t o do with comic strips, since the lead character draws comic strips" Well if Chloe can imagine to look so consistently cinematic in photo-shoots, imagine what two hours of her imagery might be like. Sign us up for a first look!

Playland

Why does the forthcoming issue of Visionaire (No 39) look so suspiciously like the infamously desirable PS 2 gaming console? Perhaps it's because the issue is indeed sponsored by Sony and was designed to echo the slick technology of the latest Playstation. Irony is the object of desire is actually made of wood and contains elegant little flip books by Baz Luhrmann, Pedro Almodovar, Darren Aronofsky, Steven Meisel and Nick Knight. Can you say "must buy"? ...Speaking of Visionaire LLC, V magazine's January issue is another must-buy for anyone who ever wondered what the angelic and perpetually polite people behind the scenes at the modeling agencies might look like. The enterprising publication shot a select group of NY agencies complete with staff and mannequin roster during the SS/03 NY shows. Wonder who came out of it with the best PR stunt? Let's say the winner had be best spirit of "playfulness".

MYSTERY MUSE

A toast to models who are as much muse as they are mannequins, bringing an element of life experience to the pictures they take. Case in point, NY Model's new signing Joanna Preis, the French conceptualist/electronic musician who served as Nan Goldin's muse. She has previously racked up credits in ID with Micheal Momy and Dazed and Confused with Karen Colins, and within minutes of coming to NY the floodgates opened for Joanna as she logged bookings with Tom Munro and Corrine Day for both L'Uomo Vogue and The Vivienne Westwood campaign. It certainly looks like NY Models is on a mission to reclaim their throne as one of the coolest and most eclectic shops in NY. Stay tuned!
