Karlie’s Kookies

Karlie Kloss with Toni Garrn celebrating Karlie’s Kookies

As one of the sweetest top models on the block, it seems only fitting that Karlie Kloss is not just a runway pro, but she’s also an impressive baker. High fashion and haute baking aren’t necessarily two things you’d think go together, but the down to earth super from St. Louis combines both her loves in her new project, Karlie’s Kookies. Partnering with Momofuku Milk Bar, Kloss created the ‘Perfect 10’ cookie, a healthy and wholesome gluten and dairy free treat, whose proceeds benefit hungry children. For each ‘Perfect 10’ cookie sold, 10 school meals are provided to kids in need. You may have seen models munching on the treats backstage – or seen our overjoyed tweets as we enjoyed a few ourselves, but hear a little more about them from Karlie herself and find out how you can get your hands on these sweet treats for a great cause.

MDC: Tell us all about Karlie’s Kookies!

KARLIE: These cookies are my baby, I like to think of them as the ulitmate fashion week survival cookie. They’re gluten free and vegan friendly; there is no butter, no sugar, no eggs. It’s amazing because I love to bake, but my other passions in life are nutrition and fitness – as a model you have to be aware of that. So I collaborated with Christina at Momofuku Milk Bar and we made this cookie that tastes amazing and has dark chocolate, but like I said it’s very healthy. The best part is that for every cookie that is bought, ten meals are donated to FEED, Lauren Bush’s organization. It’s a way I can combine all my passions, baking, giving back and enjoying delicious cookies.

MDC: They sound amazing – love the idea of a healthy cookie.

KARLIE: It’s all about having a healthy balance. I’m working with IMG Mercedes Benz to find out if I can find a space in the tents to sell them. If not I will bring them backstage on a tray and hand them out to girls.

True to form we saw Miss Kloss handing out her cookies backstage and now you can get a taste too – Perfect 10 cookies are now available on Momofuku’s website.
