It’s a marathon not a race when it comes to fashion month and the major event has finally pulled up to the City of Lights. With the first complete day of shows in full swing yesterday, the fashion industry eagerly awaited outside the monumental Eiffel Tower to see what Anthony Vaccarello would unleash for Yves Saint Laurent. While the casting focus might have been turned to the YSL muses aplenty like Anja Rubik, Mica Arganaraz, and Binx Walton (Piergiorgio Del Moro and Samuel Ellis Scheinman know how to pick ’em!) we turned to the 5 fresh faces that made a notable addition to the Saint Laurent gang.

Aube Jolicoeur
Before her grand walk for Yves Saint Laurent, this Haitian beauty made her debut at Marc Jacobs and has been cast in the memorable Versace show along with Bottega Veneta. Currently based in Paris, we’ll be on the look out where she ends up next!

Maria Miguel
A covetable exclusive opening spot and three looks later and everyone is buzzing about this Portuguese export. Her chestnut hair and eyes aside, Maria fit the femme fatale looks to a t with her mile-long pins and untouchable saunter.

Naomi Chin Wing
From prom to Paris, this Trinidadian teenager made her debut last night walking for Saint Laurent in a colorfully gilded look from a maximalist’s dream. With a fresh start to the industry, passion in modelling and much celebrated first name, her exquisite looks will be sure to take her far.

Matea Brakus
This Croatian new face had to take time off from high school for her debut appearance at YSL but it was worth the extra homework. The skilled dancer held herself with the greatest poise for her industry introduction holding it down for Vaccarello’s Bohemian Rhapsody.

Roos van Elk
After shaking whatever jitters she might have had at her debut at Prada, this standout Dutch new face moved on to the city of Lights and what better a show to make a splash? This athletic darling carried her two looks with elegance and strength.

Adut Akech
Honorable mention goes to Adut Akech who for the past three seasons has grabbed an exclusive spot walking down the Saint Laurent runway. With editorial work picking up for the South Sudanese stunner and an Instagram acknowledgement from The Queen Mother herself Naomi Campbell, sky’s the limit for the high top, long-gams beauty.
