Katya Riabinkina in the total look backstage at Prabal Gurung
Prabal Gurung‘s spirited fall collection was centered on the natural beauty of the kingdom of Mustang in Nepal, so it’s only fitting that the collection’s corresponding beauty interpretation would be regal & serene. Makeup artist Diane Kendal created a sculpted face focused on strong brows and peachy cheeks. In keeping with the season’s affinity for minimal makeup, Kendal focused on the dual inspirations of “Women in the Nepalese village and paintings by Cecily Brown” which led to an unadorned yet artistic look. Hair was kept simple with Paul Hanlon opting for a stick straight, center parted style that was unfussy and sleek. Even with the understated coiffure, the biggest strand statement backstage belonged to Natalie Westling, her cherry red locks commanded attention and matched monochromatic runway look perfectly.

Ming Xi gets her brows prepped pre-show.
MAC’s Face & Body Foundation was applied all over the skin for an even finish (seen here on Mijo Mihaljcic) and then dabbed onto lips to dull the natural lip tone.
Cheeks were given a touch of Hush Cream Color base for the peachy tone and then accented with a bit of Creamsheen lipstick in Partyline for the glow you see on Malaika Firth.

Brows were the star of the show with a focus placed on creating a thick, natural shape – think Brooke Shields or Ophelie Guillermand
Every season the team at Sally Hansen creates a color collection specially for Prabal and this time around the look was all about a nude nail (Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Himalaya) with a single stripe in brand new shade, Rupee Red.
