Fashion Forward, the exciting event thrown annually by GMHC to raise money and awareness of the AIDS epidemic, took place Thursday at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The industry’s support for the fight against AIDS has been tremendous since the beginning as it has lost many notable designers (Perry Ellis, Willi Smith, and Halston) to the tragic disease. The Fashion Forward event was created to show the industry’s commitment in this fight as well as to raise money for GMHC.
As Fashion Forward turns five this year, many designers donated their clothes and many models donated their time in order to throw on a fabulous fashion show for the dapper crowd. Tracee Ellis Ross and Brad Goreski served as hosts for the night and delighted the crowd with a show featuring clothes from Chris Benz, Thom Browne, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marlon Gobel, Sally LaPointe, Zang Toi, Timo Weiland, and VPL.
