With her flair for drama and love of embellishment, Jen Kao doesn’t make clothes for the faint of heart. A glam rock meets science fiction aesthetic dominated her fall showing, but spring finds the designer in a lighter mood. Perhaps it’s the influence of stylist Catherine Baba, but Kao went in a very eccentric direction this season. Mixed prints, clashing patterns, marabou feathers galore: fifties style housedresses show alongside striped rompers.
