Demna’s Gucci Era Begins With a Cinematic Twist
Demna, known for creating spectacles and viral moments, leaned into that reputation for his debut as artistic director of Gucci. Instead of presenting a traditional runway show, he unveiled his first collection in two parts: a lookbook titled La Famiglia, released on September 22nd, and a short film titled The Tiger, which premiered in Milan on the opening night of fashion week. Directed by Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn, the film brought characters from the lookbook to life, featuring a star-studded cast including Alex Consani, Demi Moore, Keke Palmer, Kendall Jenner, and more. The cast attended the screening dressed in looks from the Spring 2026 collection, which will be available exclusively at 10 Gucci flagship stores, located in New York, Los Angeles, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, London, Milan, and Paris until October 12. Demna’s first official runway show for Gucci is scheduled for February 2026. [W Magazine]
