Alberta Ferretti Steps Down as Creative Director
After debuting her S/S 25 collection on September 17th, Alberta Ferretti announced that she would be stepping down as creative director of her eponymous brand. She also shared that her successor would be named soon and that the brand would continue to bear her name. Ferretti launched the label in 1981, and it is part of Fashion Group Aeffe, which she co-founded with her brother. The group also owns Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Moschino, and Pollini. Although stepping down from her creative role, Ferretti will remain vice president of Aeffe. In a letter, Ferretti reflected on her journey: “I had the incredible privilege of shaping my dreams, making them come true. And on this journey, to meet and collaborate with legends, with professionals who also became friends and who helped me grow…Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Franca Sozzani, Paolo Roversi…without you, my world would never have been the same.” [WWD]
