How would you describe your work? What’s your trademark?
I would describe my work as colorful, instinctive, and eclectic. I love working with colors and textures, such as pigments and various type of paints. Exploring the vast palette of pigments allows me to experiment with different tones and shades, creating vibrant and dynamic contrasts that evoke a multitude of emotions.

What other jobs have you had?
Before devoting myself to my craft, I was a make-up artist for several major cosmetics brands.

What have you watched/heard/read lately that has inspired you?
My main source of inspiration remains rooted in my island home of Guadeloupe. Right now, Carnival is in full swing, offering a veritable explosion of creativity. It’s the most stimulating period in terms of color and make-up! It’s a time when everyone gets to explore, connect with their roots, and allow themselves to create for the sake of beauty, fun, and sharing.

“In these moments of collaboration, art really comes into its own, as it transcends individual boundaries to create something truly magical and inspiring.”

What do you love about what you do?
I particularly appreciate when great visuals emerge from the combination and collaboration of different talents. In these moments of collaboration, art really comes into its own, as it transcends individual boundaries to create something truly magical and inspiring. It is an enriching and gratifying experience to see these artistic alliances take shape and emerge in the form of unique, remarkable creations.

What have been the biggest challenges you have faced professionally?
My greatest challenge is to renew and reinvent myself with each new creation. I believe that one can only achieve this career through passion, determination, and curiosity.

Beauty Papers Cover, published in October 2023, photo by Tom Johnson
I aimed for a striking makeup look that provokes thought, drawing inspiration from the traditional (Mas) makeup of the mythical carnival group from my native island, Guadeloupe (Voukoum). It was a memorable moment as this makeup paid homage to my origins.

This first cover was decisive for my career! The atmosphere was familial during the Black Lives Matter era, and the spirit was deeply committed.
