Thom Browne Is the CFDA’s New Chairman
The CFDA taps Thom Browne as the organization’s next chairman, effective Jan 1. Browne replaces Tom Ford, who led as the chairman for three years and stepped down in May. Since then, CEO Steven Kolb has acted as the chair and will continue to do so until Dec. 31. Browne said, “I am very excited about taking the chairmanship of the CFDA, I feel a huge responsibility in working with Steven and the CFDA team to carry on the positive and important work of Tom, Diane [von Furstenberg] and Stan [Herman]. I also feel that it is important to give back to an industry that has supported me so well over the last 20 years.” [WWD]

British Fashion Council Announces New Wave Category Nominees For 2022
Ahead of The British Fashion Council’s fashion awards in December, the council unveils the new wave category. The list celebrates 50 innovative and creative stylists, photographers, models, hair and makeup artists, casting directors, and more that the panel filled with influential industry leaders has kept their eyes on. The committee consists of the founder of Kloss Films, Alec Maxwell; stylist and Global Vogue Contributing Editor, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson; model Soo Joo Park; designer Bianca Saunders; and more. Some of the new wave category nominees are makeup artist Aurore Gibrien, photographer Emmanuel Sanchez Monsalve, and stylist Herin Choi. You can find the complete list here. [BFC]

Louis Vuitton’s 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries Exhibition Hits NYC
The former Barneys New York Flagship on 660 Madison Avenue has been upgraded with Louis Vuitton’s 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries exhibition. The traveling exhibit is filled with abstract trunks designed by creatives like Gloria Steinem, BTS, Frank Gehry, and more commissioned by the French luxury house. The project is an ode to Louis Vuitton’s 200th birthday, as he initially founded the brand as a luggage company in the 1800s. The exhibition opens today and runs till December 31st, and Louis Vuitton even brought back iconic restaurant Fred’s for the interim located on the 9th floor of the former department store. Emily Ratajkowski Has a New Podcast, High Low With EmRata
This week model, author, and actress Emily Ratajkowski announced her new podcast, “High Low with EmRata,” in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment on Wednesday. Emrata will chat about politics, philosophy, feminism, sex, pop culture, and Tik Tok every Tuesday. “In each episode, she’ll host intimate conversations with special guests, including celebrities, incredible authors, close friends, and individuals she admires.” [Sony]

Into the Gloss Is Back
After a hiatus, Glossier’s Into the Gloss is back. ITG’s editorial director, Ashley Weatherford, wrote a post about why the digital publication took a break but is here for good. Weatherford let ITG’s audience know she was on maternity leave and dealing with Postpartum pre-eclampsia. Weatherford said, “We’re expanding the number of platforms in which we can reach you, and broadening our beauty coverage overall. We’re introducing new franchises and new faces. We’re storytelling our asses off. It’s taken us a minute to get here, but as they say, pardon our dust. A new ITG is getting baked.” [ITG]
