Adidas and Yeezy Partnership Under Review
What a whirlwind of a week for the Yeezy team. Ye debuted his extremely controversial YZY show with models walking down the runway wearing “White Lives Matter” shirts then doxed global Vogue contributing editor and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson after she reviewed his show. Adidas made a statement on Thursday saying they would review the partnership with Ye after consistently trying to resolve the situation privately, which led the German sportswear company to fall 3.2% in stocks. Franca Fendi Passes at 87
Franca Fendi, the third daughter of five of the Fendi family, died at 87 on Wednesday. Franca, alongside her sisters Anna, Paola, and Aida, helped evolve and expand the family-owned Italian luxury house. Franca managed the retail operations of the brand’s stores in Rome until the business was acquired in 1999 by LVMH and Prada Group. The French conglomerate bought out Prada’s stake in November 2001 and now controls the company. Unlike Carla Fendi, who remained on the board as honorary president, Franca no longer held a role at the company since the acquisition. Franca is survived by her four children, Guido, Andrea, Luca, and Federica. [WWD]
