Supreme Management F/W 10 Women Show Package

Romantic…soft….elegiac. Who would ever think that this body of adjectives would be used to describe a Supreme show package. But that is the great quality that makes this agency so dynamic as a creative force in the modeling industry. What Supreme will express for a given season is never a predictable proposition. Harkening back to that breakthrough “Morocco” show package with its theatrical tableaux and its stylized packaging, Supreme Fall/Winter 2010 showcases coveted models like Tao, Rose, Ranya, Hanne and Iris with clean yet stark faces striking Pina Bausch like poses and throwing shadows onto a painted forest. That performative element on the part of the models is the deep value of this package. A Supreme girl is marked by her training and development at that agency to stride onto any set, any directional runway as a true member of the cult of fashion and the passion of that shows in these pictures. Newcomers like Amanda, Veranika, Maddie, Reina and Antonella are presented as a part of an honest and exacting aesthetic and this is the element of show-packaging that the copycats have never been able to master.  Conceptualizing an idea is one thing but executing it with the rigorous detail of lighting, make-up, composition and styling is what moves the imagery from commercial product to aesthetic expression.  Over the years Paul Rowland’s evolution as a photographer has been sure-handed but it is moving this season to see that personal passion and emotion dedicated to swaddling the girls in a soft box of beauty. Previous show packages have packed a relentless visual punch… this one is a soft caress and ironically reveals Rowland’s very private, very quiet kind of love and tenderness for all his models.
