Paloma took to the 2019 CFDA Awards wearing her circle of friends

The annual CFDA Fashion Awards took over the Brooklyn Museum Monday night and Jennifer Lopez, Barbie, Carine Roitfeld and Sarah Burton were all official toasts of the event, with Brandon Maxwell and Rick Owens taking home Designer of the Year prizes, but we digress. The fashion awards are, as to be expected, as much about what attendees wore as they are who has won. Amongst the ceremonious fashion spectacle’s attendees fine-tuned outfits Paloma Elsesser felt worthy of a second once-over or even a third-over. The recently Top 50-listed model and muse was styled by New York-based stylist Kyle Luu and together the pair created a look that befittingly saluted talented friends and supporters. “Paloma wore Eckhaus Latta, a Telfar bag, Tiffany & Co. jewelry and Stuart Weitzman shoes. Aside from being some of the most creative and talented people, they have supported us throughout the years, so it just felt natural that we supported our friends,” said Kyle over an e-mail, continuing to say, “Paloma had 100% input from which designers she wore down to the tailoring. We loved this nontraditional suiting option––it was powerful but still interesting and sexy.” Following the MET Gala’s camp-themed fête, the CFDA Awards felt like the tempered version of how far a fashion affair can go, but event-goers contribution to the playing field acted as the underlying accessory. On that, Kyle notes of the model, “She speaks and lives in her truth! She understands how to move fashion forward, which is something I try to do on every project. We’re all about challenging the norm.”
