Luc Besson’s Latest Action Movie “Anna” Stars Sasha Luss
The trailer for Luc Besson’s Sasha Luss-led film, “Anna,” dropped this week and it looks like the Russian model-turned-actress will be kicking lots of ass as an assassin. That’s no surprise, considering Besson is known for his heroine driven action flicks like “The Fifth Element,” “La Femme Nikita,” “Léon: The Professional,” and others that have starred the likes of Milla Jovovich and Cara Delevingne. Luss previously worked with the director playing a principal role in his sci-fi film, “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.” Also in the “Anna” trailer, Siberian born-German raised model Lera Abova can be spotted. The Movie About An All-Female Punk Band, “Her Smell,” Has Agyness Deyn as the Bassist
Released today, director Alex Ross Perry’s film “Her Smell” brings 00s modeling icon Agyness Deyn to the big screen again, alongside a cast led by Elisabeth Moss and Cara Delevingne. In the film, she plays Marielle Hell, the bassist of a female punk band fronted by Moss. The model told AnOther magazine in an interview, “For the role of Marielle, I think that loving music as a kid and growing up in Manchester helped me a lot, because the film is set in the 1990s and it’s about this girl punk band. I grew up listening to The Slits and The Raincoats. They weren’t from the 90s – they were from the late 1970s – but it was that same energy. I was obsessed with all these bands growing up. I also had friends in bands. I was a little punk. I dressed like a punk. I knew that world.” Looks like it’ll be a welcome dose of Deyn’s famous rebellious ‘tude for the weekend! [AnOther]
