Meet the Model who Just Closed Louis Vuitton

From covers to campaigns to runways, there’s no denying that Canadian Krow Kian is having a moment. Earlier this year, the 23-year-old Vancouver-area native became the first ever transgender model to take the cover of L’Uomo Vogue, lensed by Collier Schorr, who also captured him for Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign. Add in the cover of the latest Dazed Magazine and a closing spot at LV’s Fall 2019 show last week, and the result is nothing short of a breakthrough not just for himself, but for an industry rushing to fulfill the promises of diversity, representation, and inclusion. “Going back to Paris during women’s fashion week was so amazing. It kept going through my head that I was back where it all started for me as a male model less than six months ago!” Kian told us after his star turn wrapping up Paris Fashion Week. “Opening for Kent and Curwin during men’s fashion week was a milestone for me as it was my first time opening along with my first men’s fashion week show. Then to have this season’s PFW with Haider Ackermann and Alexander McQueen to want me was incredible! (First male to walk during McQueen show from what I understand? So thrilled!) Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquière was the one that took a chance on me that first job last season, and when I arrived on the LV show day to learn I was going to close not only the show but the season was beyond anything I could have imagined! Standing backstage right before I went on, it hit me, I am truly accepted for who I am with these people and I couldn’t be happier.“
