Did you always want to be a model? Tell us about how you were discovered.
It was still in a corner of my head because a lot of people told me I should try, and I was already interested in fashion. But I didn’t really know how to start, and with which agency. In the end, I didn’t have to do anything because a scout from Antwerp, Felicia, texted me on Instagram. I thought it was a scam, but here I am :)

Most memorable modeling experience so far?
Opening Louis Vuitton for my first show was definitely the most memorable and craziest experience. I was so shocked when I received the number 1 during the rehearsal the night before the show. I would never forget the feeling I had right before starting up the stairs and going for my walk. (3,2,1, GO) I was scared of being too stressed and not enjoying the moment, but I absolutely enjoyed every second of it.

One song you have on repeat, and why?
I don’t have a particular song in mind, but I would say any jazz song. I really love jazz, especially when there is a saxophone; it’s such a captivating instrument, and it makes any song good.

What other passions do you have aside from modeling?
I’m very into music; it’s always a part of my daily life and really influences my mood and creativity. I’m also fascinated by astronomy because it reminds me how mysterious the universe is and how small we are. And also swimming, I used to swim a lot when I was little, it allows me to disconnect and feel good physically.

What is something you’ve always wanted to do/try?
I’ve always wanted to push myself outside my comfort zone more, especially by trying new experiences and meeting different kinds of people. And travelling the world, discovering new cultures.

What’s one thing people may be surprised to find out about you?
When people see my name (Marylore), they think I’m English or American, so they don’t think I speak French. Normally, my name is spelled Marie-Laure. Marie was my grandmother’s name on my mother’s side, and Laure was my grandmother’s name on my father’s side, which sounds rather Belgian/French.

What change would you like to see in the world?
I would like to see a softer world where everyone receives a real chance, no matter where they come from. A world with more empathy, where we take time to understand people instead of judging them too fast.
