Kodak Black – Spaz Out, because at this point, I’m trying to reach several goals I’ve set for myself, both financially and career-wise, which is why I relate to this song. Listening to it helps me become more disciplined, focused, and goal-oriented.

Fiorella

Who:
Fiorella Vindas — @fiorella_vindas — Costa Rican from Las Juntas de Abangares, Costa Rica — born March 25th — 179 cm / 5’10.5″ — she/her.

Where:
The Aegency (London – mother agency), Society (New York), Oui Management (Paris), Special Management (Milan), The Squad (London), The Vanguard Management (Barcelona), Flash model (Istanbul), Elite Copenhagen

— What’s an essential part of your daily routine?
Coffee. I can’t live without it. As a Costa Rican, I was raised in a culture where coffee is enjoyed at least three times a day, so you can imagine how I get when I don’t have one 😂

— What’s one non-physical thing you’d like to change about yourself?
Procrastination, I really hate that I’m basically an expert at it. I always leave things until the last few hours, and it’s not because I’m lazy or anything, I just need that deadline to focus and get things done right.

— Tell us about your hometown.
My hometown is a very small town in Costa Rica, on the Pacific side, called Las Juntas. The best thing about it is definitely that it’s surrounded by mountains, so I had plenty of places to watch the sunset. The worst thing… We only have one bar :’)

May

Where:
Maya Management (Paris – mother agency), Ford Models (New York)

— How did you become a model?
Believe it or not, I have my coffee addiction to thank for my modeling career! I was scouted on my way to get coffee by a photographer, who also happened to live in the same apartment complex as me. We took some test shots that landed on my agent’s radar via Instagram. I turned down the opportunity to become a model at that time to focus on my studies, but my agent never forgot me. She reached out four years later, we signed, and here I am. Who knew a latte run would lead to this?

— What are 3 interesting facts about you?
1. I am currently getting my master’s degree in Sports Management, and am a huge Formula 1 nerd.
2. I’ve moved ten times in my life (six of those were just in the last five years for my studies).
3. I have always been fascinated by the mechanics of the human mind. To me, the brain is one of the most intricate and compelling systems in the world. Trying to understand the ‘how’ and ‘why’ behind human behavior is one of my favorite things to do.

— Share a bit about your background and upbringing.
I come from a truly global family! With relatives who have lived everywhere from the U.S. to Morocco, travel is practically in my DNA. This international upbringing is exactly what sparked my passion for exploring the world and my lifelong goal of studying and living overseas.

— What’s a favorite book/movie/TV show, and why do you love it?
My favorite movie of all time is “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. My dad was born and raised in Wales, so British humor was always a major part of our family. We all love the movie so much that we even got tattoos referencing it!

Where:
Marilyn Agency (New York), Network by Nico (mother agency)

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
I am a huge epic fantasy nerd. I refuse to read a book if it doesn’t have magic or mystical creatures (I am exaggerating, of course). I want a 1,000-page-plus book with rich world-building, boundless imagination, and epic battles. My logic is that this world is so boring, I don’t want to read a book that mirrors it; I want to be transported to a fantastical world where anything is possible.

— What is your biggest irrational fear?
Seeing, being near, or being touched by a lizard. As a child, while showering in St. Lucia, my mother’s home country, a small green island lizard jumped on me and refused to get off. Since then, I have been deathly afraid of lizards. Everything about them disgusts me, especially the way they move; it’s unnatural. The worst of them all is the Komodo Dragon, a creature from the depths of hell.

— An issue or cause you are passionate about:
I am deeply passionate about maternal healthcare. As a Black woman, I am acutely aware of the increased risk of morbidity and mortality within my demographic. My interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology stems in part from my own family’s experiences, my mother was diagnosed with preeclampsia and required a cesarean section, and my aunt experienced a severe hemorrhage while delivering my cousin. Hearing these stories further fueled my commitment to improving women’s health, particularly for vulnerable communities. I currently volunteer at an OB/GYN clinic once a week, where I assist with taking patients’ vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, and urine samples. While the physician is with the patient, I also help with fetal ultrasounds to monitor heart rates, measure fundal height, and assist during minor procedures. I strongly believe in advancing health equity so that every woman, regardless of her background, receives safe, compassionate, and comprehensive care.

— One thing people may be surprised to find out about you:
People are always super surprised when I show them I can understand every Balkan language! When I lived in Eastern Europe, I studied as hard as I could! Now I have the ability to speak and understand fluent Serbian, as well as the other Balkan languages.

— The most interesting thing about your family:
The most interesting thing about my family is that we have always been in front of a camera. My Mom growing up was a YouTuber, my sister was a makeup influencer, and I always helped around! Little did I know that it would help me in the future so much, as I feel so comfortable behind a camera.
