Jil Sander

Photographer: Mario Sorrenti

Model: Magalosia / Next

The Fashion Editor: The Art School school of fashion. Looks a touch dated and beleaguered to me. But still provocative and intelligent. If self-consciously so.

The Photographer: What? This is amazing. Sorrenti is a photographer's, photographer. The whole set design, art direction, lighting, casting. The way you don't really see the girl. You don't really see the clothes but you feel the details. The way it is suggested... Amazing.

The Clothes Horse: Poor Jil Sander. I'm in mourning. I think she was really in touch with what women wanted. There was something intelligent and almost Grace Kelly about what she does but not like, old, but like dignified. And you can see it in the ad. This ad makes me sad. It's almost like being at a funeral, this ad. I think its like a poem. Jil knew that her beautiful world was cracking..I love the faded flowers. Beautiful.
